Making wellbeing fun!
What is Headssup?
Headssup is a successful NHS-backed wellbeing and resilience project for early years settings and primary schools.
It has two s’s for a reason as it’s an acronym for all of our primary emotions.
It helps children aged 2-4 and 5-11 to take ownership of their emotional, social and physical health in age appropriate ways. Headssup is for ALL children and especially those who may need help with behaviour, with low level anxiety or who have SEND.
Headssup also supports Year 6 by helping them identify and prepare for those adjustments needed for year 7. From January until August 2024, Headssup helped 1200 children across 53 primary and secondary schools during their transitional year.
Headssup can be delivered in two ways - see How it works.
Created by teachers and psychologists.

How it works
This is Emi. She is our 4" beanie mascot.
She is colour coded to represent all of our primary emotions, those emotions researchers say we are ALL born with.
Emi can be used to encourage children to follow Emi's wellbeing tips and to help start conversations about emotional health, physical health, social health and friendship health.

Headssup also works with year 6 during the year 6 to year 7 transitional year; helping year 6 take ownership of their wellbeing during this important year, as well as helping them to identify and prepare for those necessary Secondary School adjustments.
Headssup is a face to face delivered project that can reach early years and primary settings across Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Lancashire and surrounding areas. These projects can be funded or financed by schools and Trusts and are evidenced led via our connections with Lancaster University.
